Initiative overview

Hungary’s Recovery and Resilience Plan includes a health-sector digitalization component that seeks to modernize prevention, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up through ICT. The measures are framed to improve efficiency and access while strengthening data security, reducing administrative load, and building digital skills across institutions. Planned actions include upgrading core e-health infrastructure, expanding interoperable services for clinicians and patients, and coordinating implementation so that hospitals and primary care adopt common standards and tools. The intent is to create a more connected system where health data can be used safely for care, management, and quality improvement.
