The Institute for Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence and Technology (INSAIT) is a leading research institute in Bulgaria, established through a partnership with ETH Zurich and EPFL. Representing one of Eastern Europe’s most ambitious AI and computer science initiatives, INSAIT addresses the growing need for advanced research, technological innovation, and talent development in AI across the region.
INSAIT has achieved several notable milestones, including the development of BgGPT, a state-of-the-art language model, and the establishment of deep-tech AI ventures that translate research breakthroughs into practical applications. The institute conducts cutting-edge research in areas such as GPT models, computer vision, robotics, and quantum computing, positioning Bulgaria at the forefront of AI innovation in Eastern Europe.
As a member of the European Laboratory for Learning and Intelligent Systems (ELLIS) network, INSAIT fosters collaboration with leading AI research centres across Europe, ensuring knowledge exchange, high-quality research outputs, and access to advanced computational resources.
