Initiative overview

The Irish Centre for High-End Computing (ICHEC) is Ireland’s national centre for high-performance computing and plays an active role in Europe’s quantum technology landscape. In 2021, it hosted the second European Quantum Technologies Conference, bringing together researchers, policymakers, and industry to explore advances in quantum computing and its applications.

ICHEC is also a partner in major European projects, including NEASQC (Next Applications of Quantum Computing), which develops near-term quantum computing use cases, and HPCQS (High Performance Computer–Quantum Simulator), which connects supercomputers with quantum simulators to explore hybrid computing solutions. Through these initiatives, ICHEC seeks to strengthen Ireland’s contribution to cutting-edge computing research and innovation at the European level.
