Although no public announcement had been issued at the time of writing, Spanish authorities report having received more than 300 requests from ministries. The Ministry for the Digital Transformation and Civil Service has presented an ambitious Plan for the Promotion of Sectorial Data Spaces. Its objective is to foster innovation and improve competitiveness and added-value in all economic sectors, promoting the deployment of data spaces where data can be securely shared. Thanks to them, companies, and the economy in general, will be able to benefit from the full potential of a European data single market.

The Spanish government is working towards the development of a National Plan on Vulnerable Collectives. A study on the impact of AI use on vulnerable collectives was expected to be conducted in Q4 2024.

A specific programme for the development of AI skills (under development at the time of writing) will be launched as part of the national plan for digital competency enhancement (Plan Nacional de Competencias Digitales).

The programme will finance up to 80% of the enrollment fee of nearly 8,000 young people studying AI in Spanish universities, both public and private.
