Norway can take a leading position in applying AI, particularly in areas where we already are well positioned and have strong research and business communities, such as health, oil and gas, energy, the maritime and marine industries and the public sector. Public agencies ought to actively explore the potential of AI, and increased interaction between the public sector and the business sector should promote innovation and value creation. The Government wants Norway to lead the way in developing and using AI with respect for individual rights and freedoms.
