The Ministry of Economy supports two innovation centers in Mexico that use artificial intelligence (AI) to help businesses and schools work together. These centers develop new AI technologies and train experts, boosting local industries. The goal is to improve skills and create smart products, making Mexico more competitive in modern technology.

Initiative overview

The centers are dedicated to fostering industrial innovation and strengthening the Mexican innovation ecosystem, by creating business consortium according with the economic vocation of each region. This program is based on three main strategies:Industry 4.0Logistic 4.0Systematization and Internet of Things in services.The advantages of these Industrial Innovation Centers are:1. Maximize resources: Cost-benefit model, concentrated in conglomerates.2. Industry-Academy Linkage: Perspective focused on practical needs of companies.3. Shared experimentation spaces: Companies can eliminate gaps between design or between production and marketing.4. Sustainable semi-public model: sharing costs and risks in a shared knowledge scheme.5. Permanence and transfer of knowledge: IIC allows knowledge to stay in the state or region and continue to be transferred.The initiative has the following objectives:To encourage the adoption of new technologies, the generation and specialization of human talent, and the transfer of knowledge.
