A multi-regional funding programme that supports AI commercialization and adoption projects by businesses across Canada.

Initiative overview

Announced in Budget 2024, RAII channels funding through Canada’s regional development agencies to support projects across regions that productise AI, help SMEs adopt AI responsibly, and grow regional AI clusters. Pillars include adoption support, commercialisation, and ecosystem development (grants, repayable financing or non-repayable contributions depending on the delivery agency). It aims to accelerate SME adoption, foster partnerships between industry and researchers, and create regional demonstration projects and pilots.
