The Norwegian Data Protection Authority (DPA) is a public authority and independent body set up to protect the individual right to privacy.
Initiative overview
The initiative has the following objectives:To proctect the individual right to privacy by upholding a number of acts and regulations concerning data protection. The main legislation directing the work is the Personal Data Act (which incorporates GDPR).To make sure that authorities, companies, organisations and individuals follow data protection legislation through information, dialogue, complaints handling and inspection.
