Var Shankar

Var is the Founder of the Council on AI Governance. Prior to that, as Executive Director at the Responsible AI Institute, Var helped organisations use AI in alignment with applicable laws, frameworks and best practices. A graduate of Harvard Law School, Var previously practised law at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP and worked on the Clinton Global Initiative. He is a Co-Instructor, along with Alexis Cook, of Kaggle’s AI Ethics course. He is also a member of the OECD Network of Experts, the Brookings Forum for Cooperation on AI, and the World Economic Forum’s AI Governance Alliance.
