Agroboost is a national programme that helps farmers and local producers use artificial intelligence and connected devices to improve productivity and decision-making. It was created to address low productivity, climate risks, and limited access to technology in rural areas. The initiative benefits small and medium agricultural producers by strengthening skills, increasing efficiency, and supporting more sustainable farming practices.

Initiative overview

Results, outcomes and impacts

Agroboost is currently in its implementation phase. We are working with approximately 100 agricultural producers, training them in the use of Internet of Things (IoT) devices and basic data analysis to improve farm management and productivity. Progress is being monitored through participation rates, technology adoption levels, and improvements in decision-making practices. By 2026, the initiative is expected to expand to additional regions, scaling its impact and increasing the number of trained producers.

Challenges and lessons learned

Key challenges include a generational gap in digital skills and a gender gap that limits women’s participation. Many women producers are also primary caregivers, which restricts their ability to attend training sessions. Additional barriers include limited connectivity and initial resistance to adopting new technologies. To address these issues, the programme has adapted training formats, introduced flexible schedules, and promoted inclusive outreach strategies. Lessons learned highlight the importance of contextualised training, trust-building, and gender-sensitive design. Long-term success requires sustained technical support, local partnerships, and policies that reduce structural barriers to participation.
