The National Guidelines for Trustworthy and Responsible AI (the Guidelines) establish a national reference for the responsible development, deployment, and oversight of Artificial Intelligence systems across the public and private sectors. These Guidelines aim to ensure that AI is used safely, transparently, and ethically, while supporting innovation and digital transformation in alignment with Egypt’s Vision 2030 and the National AI Strategy.

Egypt’s National AI Governance Framework is the suite of all AI Governance instruments and publications that establishes a comprehensive, sovereign, and human centric approach to governing artificial intelligence across the public and private sectors. Rooted in Egypt’s constitutional values and aligned with global best practices, the Framework positions Egypt as a regional anchor in responsible AI.

Egypt’s National AI Strategy (2025–2030) aims to position the country as a regional leader through six pillars: Governance, Technology, Data, Infrastructure, Ecosystem, and Talent. By 2030, it targets an ICT GDP contribution of 7.7%, 30,000 AI experts, and 250+ startups. Key goals include launching a National Foundation Model and ensuring ethical use via a new regulatory system. It focuses on improving life in sectors like health and agriculture.

The Open Data Policy of Egypt establishes a national framework for releasing non‑sensitive government data to promote transparency, innovation, and public trust. It defines principles, governance structures, licensing rules, and a central data portal to ensure accessible, high‑quality, machine‑readable datasets across public institutions.

The Egyptian Charter for Responsible AI is a guide to help Egypt develop and use AI in a safe and fair way. It adapts global ethical principles to Egypt's needs, ensuring AI benefits people and society. This initiative supports policymakers and organizations in managing AI responsibly while protecting rights and promoting trust.

Egypt launched an Applied Innovation Center for creating applications in different emerging technologies including AI.

Egypt launched in 2020 a personal data protection law to emphasize the country's commitment to the responsible use and governance of data.

The National AI Strategy is a key priority for helping achieve Egypt's sustainable development goals.
