Initiative overview
The ARTIQ programme, launched in 2023 by Poland’s National Science Centre (NCN) and the National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR), is aimed at boosting the country’s capacity in advanced AI research and development. One of the key projects under this scheme is led by AGH University of Science and Technology, which secured funding to establish a specialised research team working on next-generation AI systems.
The winning project, titled “Integrating Reasoning, Learning, Optimization and Interpretability for Accelerated Commercialization of Next-Generation Intelligent Software Systems”, reflects the initiative’s focus on bridging fundamental AI research with practical applications. By combining areas such as machine reasoning, machine learning, and optimization with interpretability, the project seeks to strengthen both scientific knowledge and pathways for AI commercialisation.
Through such efforts, ARTIQ intends to reinforce Poland’s role in the European AI research landscape, while also creating opportunities for translating academic advances into market-ready solutions.
