A subsidy that lets SMEs purchase pre-approved, off-the-shelf productivity/automation products from a catalogue (including some AI-enabled tools) to accelerate straightforward digital/AI adoption.

Name in original language

中小企業省力化投資補助金(カタログ注文型)

Initiative overview

The Catalog-type route is part of Japan’s SME labour-saving investment subsidy program: SMEs choose eligible, pre-approved products from a catalogue and apply for funding to cover part of the purchase/installation costs. This simplifies procurement and speeds adoption of proven automation tools (robotics, software, AI-enabled packages) without a long custom procurement process. The scheme operates alongside a General-type route for more bespoke investments.
