The Competencies in Advanced Technologies for SMEs project, initiated by the Authority for the Digitalization of Romania (ADR) in 2022, aims to enhance the digital skills of employees in Romanian SMEs. Funded through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP), Component 7, Investment 19, the project will support the digital transformation of a minimum of 2,000 SMEs by providing fully financed training programs. Initiative overview

The Competencies in Advanced Technologies for SMEs initiative addresses the need for upskilling employees in small and medium-sized enterprises to facilitate their digital transformation. The project is structured as follows:

  • Target Beneficiaries: The project aims to support the digital transformation of a minimum of 2,000 SMEs by enhancing the digital competencies of their employees.
  • Training Programs: Employees of participating SMEs will have access to fully financed training programs designed to improve their skills in advanced technologies, thereby increasing the companies' competitiveness and innovation capacity.
  • Implementation Timeline: The project commenced in 2022 and is scheduled for completion by December 16, 2025
  • Digital4All Platform: In 2024, ADR launched the Digital4All platform in collaboration with Zitec to provide a seamless digital platform and tech training, aiming to boost SME digital skills across Romania
