Initiative overview

Romania’s Government Cloud legislation, adopted in June 2022, establishes a national hybrid cloud infrastructure to modernize and centralize public sector IT systems. The platform includes both private and certified public cloud components and follows a “cloud first” policy, prioritizing cloud solutions for new and upgraded government IT projects. Managed by multiple national agencies, the initiative aims to enhance data security, interoperability, and service quality while reducing costs.
