Initiative overview

The European Digital Innovation Hub (EDIH) Brussels supports small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in adopting sustainable digital innovation, including artificial intelligence (AI) and other emerging technologies. The initiative addresses the challenge that many SMEs face in developing digital capabilities necessary to drive competitiveness, sustainability, and resilience in a rapidly changing industrial and societal landscape.

The primary objective of the hub is to strengthen the digital skills and technological adoption of Brussels’ industrial sector, which is predominantly composed of SMEs. Strategic goals include fostering economic growth, facilitating social and environmental transitions, and supporting post-COVID recovery by enhancing the capacity of companies to implement innovative, digital solutions.

EDIH Brussels is implemented through a partnership of Agoria, Sirris, BeCentral, Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB), and Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). Together, these partners provide SMEs with a comprehensive service ecosystem that includes training, experimentation, technology demonstrations, and access to expertise. The hub currently serves over 1,500 companies, helping them explore AI applications, optimize processes, and develop innovative products and services.
