The “Stratégie intelligence artificielle et données de santé 2025‑2028” is a French government initiative launched in July 2025 to structure the use of health data and artificial intelligence. It aims to improve access, sharing, and quality of health data while supporting AI deployment through regulation, governance, infrastructure, and training, in alignment with European data regulations and national innovation programmes.

Current AI was set up to reshape the existing AI landscape by developing and supporting large-scale initiatives that serve the public interest.

A France 2030 competitive three-phase funding programme supporting breakthrough AI R&D projects by startups, SMEs, labs, and consortia, with phased funding from EUR 100K (feasibility) up to EUR 8M (market application), operated by Bpifrance and Agence de programmes Numérique (Inria).

A fast, collateral-free online loan of between EUR 5,000 and EUR 75,000 for French very small firms (VSEs) and SMEs with fewer than 50 employees, enabling them to finance AI tool integration and project implementation.

A national “diffusion” plan to accelerate the adoption of AI technologies within the private sector.

The French National Institute of Geographical and Forest Information (IGN) leads several AI-enhanced projects supporting land use, ecology, and agriculture. These include LiDAR HD (3D national mapping), OCS GE (land cover classification), CarHab (habitat modelling), AI4GEO (automated 2D/3D mapping from satellite data), CAP monitoring (with MASA/ASP), and BDForêt (forest reference mapping), advancing data-driven public policy and environmental management.

Programme launched as part of France 2030 to promote frugal, agile and sustainable digital solutions. Spintronics is an emerging technology with multiple potential applications in the context of AI solutions.

The Jean Zay supercomputer extension is a French government initiative investing €40 million, via the France 2030 programme, to expand the computing capacity of the Jean Zay supercomputer, operated by CNRS at IDRIS in Orsay. The extension focuses on upgrading GPU architecture to meet growing AI research demands and is expected to make Jean Zay the largest AI-dedicated supercomputer in France.

The Plan aims to provide patients with timely access to the latest genomic innovations and integrate genomics into routine healthcare to improve diagnosis and treatment, reduce diagnostic errors, and personalise therapeutic strategies.
