Initiative overview

Malta’s European Digital Innovation Hub (DiHubMT) is being equipped with a high-performance computing (HPC) facility to support data- and AI-intensive workloads for startups, SMEs, and public bodies. Government statements specify that the HPC will be hosted at DiHubMT and used for areas such as AI, computational physics, and data analysis, complementing the hub’s “test-before-invest,” skills, and advisory services. The move follows Malta’s accession to the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking in 2021, and aligns with the EDIH network’s remit to provide access to advanced technologies including HPC and AI.
