Initiative overview

Launched in 2023 by Mission French Tech (under the French Ministry for the Economy), 'Je Choisis la French Tech' is a voluntary engagement initiative where large corporations (grands comptes) commit to systematically favour French startups and scaleups when procuring innovative products and services. Participants sign a public commitment and are tracked on delivery. The initiative directly addresses a longstanding barrier for French deeptech and AI startups: access to enterprise customers and large contracts. By 2024, over 50 major corporates had signed up (including Airbus, BNP Paribas, LVMH, Renault, and international groups), with a combined procurement commitment of EUR 1B over 2024–2026. A dedicated digital platform enables corporates to identify and select from a curated catalogue of French startup solutions. Mission French Tech also provides match-making services, buyer-seller workshops, and tracks progress transparently. The initiative is part of France's broader French Tech programme supporting the growth of the national startup ecosystem and complements other programmes such as French Tech 2030 and the AI Action Plan.
