Initiative overview

The Innovation Center for Artificial Intelligence (ICAI) is a national initiative designed to strengthen the Netherlands’ role in AI research and talent development. It builds collaborative labs across universities, research institutes, and companies, where applied AI research is carried out on real-world challenges in fields such as healthcare, mobility, finance, and public services.

Through this structure, ICAI seeks to train the next generation of AI experts, retain talent within the country, and promote responsible AI use aligned with ethical and societal values.
