AI for justice
The Polish Ministry of Justice has launched a dedicated website to provide current and verified information on the applications of artificial intelligence (AI) in the Polish judiciary. The site serves as a resource for a broad audience interested in understanding AI's impact on the administration of justice.
Academy of Innovative Applications of Digital Technologies (AI Tech)
AI Tech is cooperation project between five universities to develop a model of systemic education of specialists in the field of artificial intelligence, machine learning and cybersecurity.
Working Group on Artificial Intelligence
Working Group on Artificial Intelligence brings together 350 experts across 14 subgroups industry, legal, research across many sectors including health. The GRAI followed the Policy for the Development of Artificial Intelligence in Poland from 2020 to build capacity and knowledge within Polish businesses on AI while also considering regulatory compliance and protection of human dignity.
SNOMED CT and Semantic Interoperability
In 2023, Poland committed to the implementation and use of SNOMED CT classification standard for its health data to enable semantic interoperability and establish the foundations for AI solutions in its health services.
Academic Computer Centre CYFRONET AGH
In the context of its National Digitalisation Strategy, a new “AI Factory” facility will be built at the Academic Computer Centre CYFRONET AGH in Kraków to boost computing power in Poland. The facility is expected to be operational by the end of 2025.
EuroQCS-Poland
The EuroQCS-Poland project is a joint initiative of Polish and European institutions, owned by the EuroHPC JU and located at the Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center (PSNC). EuroQCS-Poland will be a digital, gate-based quantum computer, based on trapped-ions offering 20-plus physical qubits, with the infrastructure allowing for remote access. PSNC leads the EuroQCS-Poland consortium, handling the integration and development of hardware and software.
National Framework for Supporting Strategic Semiconductor Investments
This programme (Krajowe Ramy Wspierania Strategicznych Inwestycji Półprzewodnikowych) is dedicated to supporting strategic semiconductor investment in Poland, aiming to cover the entire value chain from chip design to production.
National Center for Data Processing
This joint project between the Digital Poland Project Centre and the Ministry of Digital Affairs, carried out jointly with the Research and Academic Computer Network, the National Research Institute and the Central Information Technology Centre, aims at building modern processing centres ensuring the continuity and security of public administration resources.
IPCEI-CIS
Poland is participating in the IPCEI Next Generation Cloud Infrastructure and Services (CIS), with four projects, some of which include AI-specific components.
Polish Cloud Support Fund
This action aims to encourage private investments and improve access to financing for the digital transformation of Polish enterprises. Loan support may only be granted for digital transformation projects where at least 30% of the total eligible costs are related to cloud infrastructure and cloud computing services. The remaining costs are also directly related to the digital transformation of the business, e.g. increasing the use of other smart solutions.
Common State IT Infrastructure Programme
Common State IT Infrastructure Programme (WIIP) includes the handbook on Cloud in Government Services: Guide for Public Authorities, which aims to introduce uniform, high standards of IT systems protection and support for public administration in maintaining these systems. As part of the program, a tool for searching, comparing, and acquiring cloud services, the Cloud Service Provision System (Zapewniania Usług Chmurowych - ZUCH) was made available to the public administration.
Data Opening Programme
The programme, jointly with the Act on Open Data and the Re-use of Public Sector Information covers key issues in the field of data sharing and management. It is addressed to government administration bodies and aims at: increasing the availability of data in the portal Dane.gov.pl, including data made available via API; improving interoperability and data quality; increase in the use and exchange of data; stimulating the market for the re-use of cultural resources and scientific data.
Poland's Public Data Opening Programme, part of the Programme of Integrated Informatisation of the State (PZIP)
Poland’s Public Data Opening Programme (PZIP) is an initiative aimed at enhancing the accessibility and usability of public sector information. This programme is part of Poland's broader strategy to foster an open data culture, aligning with the EU's directives on open data and the reuse of public sector information.
New Energy
The New Energy (Nowa Energia) programme in Poland supports entrepreneurs and local governments in adopting innovative energy technologies. It promotes solutions such as Smart Cities for Growth and Self-Sufficient Energy Clusters. The programme strengthens sustainable development in the energy sector and public services.
