Initiative overview

With the advancement of IoT device availability and the inevitable future adoption of 5G technology data communications infrastructure, technologies and systems used to solve problems typical of urban dynamics should be tested in real environments, generating data that can be treated and based on their potential application in Brazilian metropolises. This solution helps propel a great market for technology services and device solutions into a broad repertoire of possibilities for urban life enablers, bringing with it great resilience and sustainability for the future of Brazilian cities.Smart city technologies are cross-cutting structures that support energy efficiency, environmental sustainability, sanitation, and mobility, especially at the municipal level of the true smart city constitution. The set of applications of various platform tools, by which technology actions can be perfectly articulated with each other, will lead to increased changes in urban dynamics. Being more effective if aided by AI, would result in better possibilities to print great quality of life for residents. The initiative has the following objectives:To identify and demonstrate technological applications in urban areas for the Brazilian municipal administrations in the conceptual understanding of their contribution to greater sustainability and efficiency in urban dynamics, and more specifically, changes in relations with citizens, gains in infrastructure, expansion of sanitation, the adoption of renewable energy systems, qualification in health and education services, gains in urban mobility, the promotion of eco-responsible buildings, the support of information and the availability of solutions aggregated to municipal management. To structure demonstration environments linked to Brazilian technology parks, such as national points of integration and activation of technology solutions, in order to help municipalities to rationally contract solutions that best suit their reality. To be a focal point for start-ups and innovative technological solutions from companies located in Brazil, to provide demonstration after submission to tests of efficiency and effectiveness. To create a multi-stakeholder governance body for certification of applied technologies, standardisation and adoption of international standards, and develop benchmarking tests for capacity testing, management level assessment, integration, performance, transparency, traceability, robustness, security, etc.
