Initiative overview

The short-term adoption and long-term path for Aurora AI have been affirmed in several recent strategic government documents. The June 2019 report Leading the Way into the Age of Artificial Intelligence commits the government to work to ensure human-centric introduction of artificial intelligence and the implementation of ethical principles in the public sector through the AuroraAI project over the next year. In addition the Prime Minister launched a new government programme entitled Inclusive and Competent Finland that, among many things, affirms that secure and ethically sustainable development of the AuroraAI network will be continued, as permitted by the overall spending limits, in order to make everyday life and business easier.
