The strategy of investing in the Government Cloud “G-Cloud" is part of the government's strategy to centralise all the Information Systems of the individual Public Administration Bodies into a single structure under the management of the infrastructure by the GSIS of the Ministry of Digital Governance. G-Cloud aims at the common use of computing infrastructures by public administration bodies, thus reducing their maintenance and support costs and increasing their flexibility and security.

Initiative overview

The Government Cloud, or “G-Cloud,” is an initiative to centralize the IT systems of all public administration bodies into one shared cloud platform. This approach helps reduce costs by avoiding the need for each agency to maintain its own separate infrastructure. It also improves flexibility, allowing agencies to scale and adapt their digital services more easily, while strengthening security by managing everything under a single, well-governed system.

G-Cloud is managed by the General Secretariat for Information Systems (GSIS) within the Ministry of Digital Governance. Through this shared infrastructure, public bodies can access computing resources as needed, making government operations more efficient and connected.

As the project grows, more public agencies will join, and the platform will support new digital services, helping create a modern, cost-effective, and secure digital government.
