Pelan Tindakan AI Kebangsaan 2026–2030 (Negara AI 2030)
Initiative overview
National AI Action Plan 2026–2030 (AI Nation 2030) sets out Malaysia’s strategic direction for becoming an AI Nation by 2030. It positions Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a core driver of Malaysia’s next phase of national development, building on the aspiration under the Thirteenth Malaysia Plan (RMK-13) for AI technologies to be integrated holistically across socioeconomic development, public administration and the daily lives of citizens. By 2030, Malaysia aspires to become a Regional Digital Technology Hub and a producer of globally competitive Made by Malaysia AI products and services that are inclusive and sustainable.
The Plan responds to the rapid transformation of the global AI landscape, which presents significant opportunities alongside emerging risks for Malaysia. It recognises that technological advances are accelerating AI adoption across sectors, while competition for AI talent, compute capacity, investment and technological capabilities is intensifying. At the same time, AI development has become an increasingly strategic consideration, with implications for national competitiveness, economic resilience and Malaysia’s ability to shape its own AI future. AI Nation 2030 therefore seeks to strengthen national capabilities and enable AI to deliver broad-based value, while ensuring that technological progress remains balanced with trust, effective governance and positive societal outcomes.
The Plan is centred on the vision of an Inclusive and Sustainable AI Nation and a mission to deploy AI systematically across Government, Business and the Rakyat, translating technological capability into tangible and measurable benefits. It brings together national priorities across human capital, market-driven innovation and adoption, data and compute infrastructure, responsible governance and sectoral AI adoption. Through this approach, AI is positioned not as an end in itself, but as a means to deliver inclusive growth, national resilience, sustainability and long-term value for Malaysia.
