There are currently ongoing efforts to launch a National Data Dictionary (NDD) in order to solve a number of problems such as the challenges of integrating information systems of public institutions and organizations, duplicate and conflictive data, lack of a common language in information systems and unknown data ownership. The NDD has started the process of standardizing data, and a Data Dictionary Portal has been established under the auspices of the Digital Transformation Office.
Initiative overview
To solve many problems such as integration difficulties in the information systems of public institutions and organizations, duplicate and conflicting data, the lack of language unity in information systems and the uncertainty of data ownership, preparing a National Data Dictionary was initiated. The ISO/IEC 11179 standard has been adopted as a national standard, TS ISO/IEC 11179. A Data Dictionary Portal in compliance with TS ISO/IEC 11179 standard has been launched. The methodology has been identified. Training content and schedule have been created. A Help Desk has been established in order to support the solution of potential problems in the National Data Dictionary system. Training has started. The institutions will create their data dictionaries as a result of these efforts.The initiative has the following objectives:- To compile a national data inventory- To identify data ownership- To configure management and monitoring processes through national data integration architecture- To ensure the use of common terminology and create corporate memory- To identify national data models- To create a central service design platform
