The GovTech Challenge Series is a structured open innovation process that connects public sector challenges and teams with ideas or solutions. The programme is designed to solve complex public sector challenges that do not have a clear answer but a potential to foster the creation of innovative digital solutions. The GovTech Challenge Series is supported by a co-creation acceleration programme, designed to foster user centricity, collaboration between public sector institutions and startups.
The project, implemented by the Information Society Development Committee (ISDC) together with partners Langas į ateitį Association and the Lithuanian National Library Martynas Mažvydas, aims to provide digital literacy training and other activities to help develop the population's ability to make full use of the digital solutions developed. It also aims to enable the most vulnerable social groups to make greater use of e-services.
This pilot programme is being implemented to responsibly test AI solutions and gather information on the potential opportunities and risks of using this technology in the public sector. The pilot iteration of the programme involves 14 public sector organisations and the development of six concepts exploring possible future interactions between the public sector and artificial intelligence.
