Initiative overview
The initiative is aimed at implementing the national Concept for the Development of Artificial Intelligence in Ukraine by 2030. It addresses the issue of insufficient coordination of policies and the absence of a comprehensive approach to AI implementation in key sectors such as education, cybersecurity, public administration, and defence. The use of AI in these areas creates opportunities to improve the efficiency, security, and quality of public services.
Objectives:
- Supporting research and development in AI, drafting national AI legislation, promoting the application of AI technologies in higher education, combating cyber threats, and using AI for analysis, forecasting, and modelling of public administration systems.
- Ensuring the safe use of AI in the defence sector, which is an essential aspect of national security.
Impact:
The initiative is implemented through a set of measures including the development of regulatory legal acts, methodological recommendations, adoption of international standards, and the creation of educational programmes. Further institutionalised implementation is envisaged through coordination between government bodies and expanded international cooperation. This will facilitate scaling results and deeper integration of AI into various sectors.
