Initiative overview
The PRISSMA Project (Research and Investment Platform for the Safety and Security of Autonomous Mobility) is designed to support the development and validation of automated road transport systems. Its goal is to ensure that autonomous vehicles operate safely within predefined routes or areas. AI is integrated as part of the overall system-of-systems concept, allowing individual components to be tested and verified within a broader transport network.
Key objectives of the project include:
- Verifying the safety and reliability of automated transport systems
- Integrating AI components into autonomous mobility platforms
- Supporting innovation in autonomous transport through targeted research and investment
The project is part of a wider AI Challenge organised by the Innovation and Industry Fund, which selects and supports high-impact AI projects. Since its inception, five major AI-related challenges have been addressed under this initiative, demonstrating a strong focus on applied research and practical implementation.
