Initiative overview
The PRODIGIT project is a collaborative initiative between the Presidential Council of Tax Justice (Consiglio di Presidenza della Giustizia Tributaria, CPGT) and the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), aimed at modernising judicial tax proceedings through the use of artificial intelligence (AI). The project addresses key challenges in tax-related legal processes, including lengthy case handling, administrative complexity, and the need for more accurate decision-making.
PRODIGIT focuses on enhancing efficiency and accuracy in judicial procedures by integrating AI-powered tools into the workflow of tax judges. The initiative employs techniques such as legal summarisation, information extraction, and data-driven analysis to assist judges in processing cases, identifying relevant information, and making informed decisions more quickly. This approach reduces the administrative burden on judicial staff while maintaining the quality and reliability of legal outcomes.
The project involves close collaboration between judicial authorities, public administration, and AI experts, ensuring that technological solutions are tailored to the legal context and practical needs of the tax justice system. By embedding AI into judicial processes, PRODIGIT demonstrates the potential of AI to support public sector transformation in specialised legal domains.
