Initiative overview

The TWIST programme (2025–2031) is aimed at helping Czech companies adapt to rapid technological shifts. It focuses on strengthening innovation in key fields such as AI, quantum technologies, and semiconductors. The first call supports AI research and development, giving firms the chance to secure subsidies of up to CZK 30 million for projects that often involve cooperation with SMEs or research organisations.

Its main goal is to raise the innovation capacity of established companies and ensure they can compete in strategic technologies critical for long-term growth. The programme will gradually expand, with future calls expected to cover semiconductors and quantum projects, backed by significant state funding and linked to national infrastructure such as Digital Innovation Hubs.
