National Office of Information Technologies (ONTI) AI Agents Guidelines
Standard guide that is being developed by the National Office of Information Technologies to guide the design and sizing of projects incorporating Artificial Intelligence Agents in public administration. It is only aimed at national public administrations seeking to adopt this technology in a planned and responsible manner. Its objective is to disseminate best practices, reduce risks, and ensure secure, effective implementation aligned with State priorities and regulations.
Prompting Guide for Public Administration
The Prompting Guide for Public Administration is a national guidance for professionals working at National Public Administration. It supports the responsible use of generative AI by providing practical instructions, legal safeguards, and human oversight criteria for interacting with large language models. It was developed to strengthen institutional digital capabilities while ensuring data protection, transparency, and accountability in the use of AI tools.
Agent MIA (Argentine State's Artificial Intelligence Assistant)
MIA is integrated into the national government's chatbot (TINA). It was conceived as a support agent for citizen services management based on information security, administrative transparency, and human oversight principles. It offers personalized responses according to each user's needs and context. It is based on LLAMA 4 (Meta) for speed, low operating cost, and open-source nature. Currently in its initial phase with two use cases: SMEs and Mi Argentina (citizens' platform).
IPS Córdoba Assistant — AI Policy Analysis Agent for Social Progress Governance (Subnational: Province of Córdoba)
The IPS Córdoba Agent is an AI-powered policy tool integrated into the Social Progress Index dashboard for Córdoba’s 427 localities. It analyses quality-of-life data across 12 components and 57 indicators, combining social metrics, trends, and policy literature. More than a chatbot, it provides contextualised analysis and actionable recommendations so mayors and local officials can turn data into informed public policy, targeted investment, and evidence-based decisions.
AI Learning Pathway (AILP)
The AI Learning Pathway is a progressive capacity-building program that has trained over 600 public employees in AI fundamentals, governance, prompting, and data use, in collaboration with leading technology companies. Based on an initial assessment of digital capability gaps and training needs, it addresses uneven skills and limited data use across government, fostering a culture of innovation and data, and aligning public administration with the challenges of digital transformation.
Bill establishing the Federal Observatory on Artificial Intelligence (No. 3900-D-2024)
The bill proposes the creation of the Observatorio Federal sobre Inteligencia Artificial (O.F.I.A.) within the Executive Branch of Argentina. Its mission is to provide updated and public information to support the design, implementation, and management of public policies related to AI. The observatory will analyze ethical dimensions, risks, and impacts of AI, promote research and education, and foster inclusive and responsible AI development.
National Programme for Transparency and Protection of Personal Data in the Use of Artificial Intelligence
This program fosters analytical processes and enhances capabilities to ensure the responsible development and use of artificial intelligence. It targets both public and private entities that deploy automated decision-making systems, focusing on safeguarding citizens' privacy while encouraging transparency and clarity. The initiative comprises three key components: an artificial intelligence observatory, governance and social engagement, and capacity building.

AI Center
The AI Center (Argentina) is a technical cooperation project between the Argentine government and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). Its main goal is to strengthen the country's institutional capacity in artificial intelligence by establishing an AI center that follows global best practices. The initiative supports the national strategy to promote AI research, development, and adoption across public and private sectors.
Recommendations for a trustworthy Artificial Intelligence
On June 1st, 2023, the Undersecretariat for Information Technologies approved under Disposition No. 2/2023 the "Recommendations for Trustworthy Artificial Intelligence". These recommendations provide a theoretical and practical guide that establishes a set of ethical principles to be considered and incorporated into every phase of an AI project within the public sector.
