Media law is in the process of adopting special provisions to regulatealso use of AI in media, daling with miss- and diss- information, transparency, responsiblitiy and copyright.

Initiative overview

Based on current AI developments of Generative AI and its use in public media, proliferation of miss- and diss- information together with deep-fake content requires to properly regulate the media landscape in order to assure current, truthfull, transparent and non-discriminative information. The initiative is related to 8th strategic goal of National AI programme NpUI ensuring an appropriate legal and ethical framework and 7th strategic goal increasing public trust in AI.The initiative has the following objectives:- regulatation of media ownership and limiting concentration- regulatation of state-aid in the area of media- regulation of advertising by state- assuring AI generated media content transparency and labelingThe Act includes a dedicated chapter on Generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI), emphasizing its regulation within media to safeguard the public interest and uphold citizens' right to comprehensive and transparent information. This includes the fundamental right to know whether media content has been generated by artificial intelligence.
